Recipe: Almond Butter

Whilst making some healthy snacks for myself for the coming week, I came across a recipe that required almond butter. I wasn’t entirely sure what this was, so I jumped into google and found it is so super easy to make…you just need a tonne of patience!

Almond Butter

  • Difficulty: easy
  • Print

2 cups raw almonds (yep that’s it!)

  1. Place almonds in oven for 15 mins to roast (I removed mine at 10 mins)
  2. (Now for the part where you need patience!)
  3. Place almonds into a food processor and blitz for 5-10 mins
  4. You will see it turn to a crumb like texture…keep the processor going, until you see it form a sticky paste, nope don’t stop yet! Keep it whizzing until its shiny and a slightly runny consistency.
  5. Store in an air tight container for up to a week in the fridge. (if it lasts that long!)

Delicious on toast or you can use it in energy balls like I did.
That’s it. How easy is that!
You could roast then process more than 2 cups to make more and also do this with cashews or peanuts for more yummy homemade nut butters/spreads!
